yReceipts and Retail IT bring email receipts to the high street

Retail IT, authorised UK-resellers of leading Electronic-Point-of-Sale (EPoS) software Retail Pro, announced today a strategic partnership with yReceipts to make email receipts available to their customers. Retail IT’s customers can seamlessly integrate yReceipts into their existing till systems. With no additional hardware required this new feature is simple to install and use.

yReceipts are not only environmentally friendly, they also provide a unique marketing opportunity for Retail IT’s customers. Using the yReceipts system retailers can display targeted offers or coupons on the actual email receipt. A customer who bought a camera might for example see a special receipt offer for a camera bag in the retailer’s online store.

The process is simple. At the till, shoppers simply give their email address or any existing loyalty card to the shop assistant to receive an email receipt. The receipt arrives in an email attached as a PDF file. Shoppers can also sign up for a free yReceipts account to store and manage their receipts online.

Richard Druce from yReceipts stresses: "We aim at providing shoppers a more convenient way to receive their receipts. Paper receipts will sooner or later be replaced by email receipts. We consider ourselves receipt solution providers and not email marketers. Therefore we only email receipts and not marketing material to shoppers."
